What does the cartridge do?

BWT describes the bestdemin PLUS range as a demineralisation system that uses mixed-bed ion exchange to remove dissolved salts from the incoming water. The range is used in applications including steam generation for medical and dental sterilisers.

A demineralisation cartridge treats the water supply; it does not replace instrument cleaning, autoclaving or the checks required for the sterilisation process.

Water quality and cartridge replacement

Use water that meets your steriliser manufacturer’s requirements. Cartridge capacity and replacement timing depend on the water supply, use and the applicable equipment instructions. A cartridge should not be treated as a guarantee of a particular water-quality reading throughout its service life.
