This is not an error code, this means that the steriliser needs to run a cleaning cycle. Please do the following with no items in the steriliser:

  • Turn off the steriliser, open the door then turn back on.
  • Press and hold the Select button on the control panel until the display changes to CLE.
  • Shut the door and then press the Start button the display, this will now show 19.
  • The cleaning cycle will now run for 19 minutes. There will then be a 10 minute drying time and once completed the display will show ED.
  • Restart your steriliser and the lights should now not appear.

To complete manual testing on your steriliser this is done in the morning on the 1st cycle of the day using either Helix Testing Strip in the device or a Bowie Dick Test to prove that your machine is fit for use for the day.

To use the Helix Testing Strip place the strip in the device and put on the middle shelf with no instruments in the steriliser. Put this on a normal wrapped cycle, once completed check the indicator on the strip is the correct colour as indicated.

To use the Bowie Dick test please use the same procedure as the Helix Testing Strip without the device.

Helix Testing Strips only detect a vacuum. Bowie Dick tests can detect all 3 vacuums on a wrapped cycle. It is your preference on which test you prefer to use in your vacuum steriliser.
